'Clinton Cash' author slams Stephanopoulos: 'Massive' ethics breach

The author of a new book that scrutinizes the Clinton Foundation is slamming ABC News anchor George Stephanopoulos for not publicly disclosing his donations to the group.
Peter Schweizer questioned the journalistic integrity of Stephanopoulos, who, during a testy interview on ABC's "This Week," was among the first reporters to question the claims in Schweizer's book, Clinton Cash.
“Really quite stunned by this,” Schweizer said in an email to Bloomberg about Stephanopoulos's donations to the group, describing it as “a massive breach of ethical standards."
"He [Stephanopoulos] fairly noted my four months working as a speech writer for George W. Bush. But he didn't disclose this?” Schweizer added.
The ABC Sunday show anchor is under firefrom Republicans for the donations, which appeared on the Clinton Foundation website, but he did not disclose them during broadcasts on the topic.
White House candidate Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) said Stephanopoulos should recuse himself from moderating ABC's presidential debate, and the communications director for Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) has said he wouldn't allow his boss on ABC until the anchor "recuses himself from all 2016 coverage."
Stephanopoulos issued a statement to Politico, which reported the news after an inquiry by The Washington Free Beaconacknowledging the donations and apologizing. That statement was also attached on ABC's original report on the Clinton Cash interview from last month.
ABC News issued a statement to Politico defending the anchor and saying it had accepted his apology.
