A video posted to LiveLeak shows the dramatic confrontation between a bus passenger and a state trooper that took place Thursday on a Greyhound bus traveling from Cleveland to Columbus, Ohio.
As the video shows, the woman swings on the cop seemingly out of the blue, pushing her out of the bus and taking her to the ground outside.
And that’s when the passengers get vocal.
“What is that police officer doing?” one woman, before adding, “She better shoot her.”
But as the assailant continues to beat on the trooper, no on steps in.
“Help her! What the hell is ya’ll doing!” the same woman screams as the pair tussles. “Help her!”
Eventually one male exits the bus and uses one hand to gingerly try the pull the woman off while he holds a phone in the other hand. Another male then steps in to help pull the woman off of the female state trooper, but the woman continues to fight, elbowing the trooper in face as the trooper tries to pull out handcuffs.
“Someone’s going to prison,” a man can be heard saying on the bus.
“She has no control over the situation,” one of the passengers notes. “She would be grass if she were by herself. She would be grass.”
Passengers continue to call for the cops to exert force against the woman, with one saying, ”She should taser her or something.”
One of the passengers on the bus, Zach Baugh, told WJW-TV that the woman who got arrested had been acting strangely leading up to the incident.
“It was unfortunate, it was pretty mind-blowing,” he said. “It looked like the lady was having a little bit of a personal problem and she was going back and forth on the bus and yelling outrageous comments and disturbing a lot of the riders.”
That disturbance eventually prompted the bus driver to call 911, which led to the state trooper trying to get the woman out of the bus.
“[The trooper] was asking real respectfully and that’s when the suspect attacked her — it was out of the blue, it seemed like she was going to cooperate, and then it just happened,” Baugh said.
